On PMQs his worst answer was about the disabled college facing funding problems, where all he could do was rattle off general budget numbers and as an afterthought grant a meeting with a junior minister. Paul Waugh has the right assessment of Brown's general performance today

... as well as the comment from the head of the audit commission that the NHS (& education) shouldn't be protected from cuts.

Meanwhile "entitlements" and the new housing project collapse before our eyes, with no one knowing where the money for the houses is coming from.

Brown seems to have no concept of how to do politics or policy right. Amazing. You couldn't make it up.

Strategy thought for the day forgive the obvious pun below (please)

I wondered if you thought there is mileage re National Express no longer a train service serving the East. It struck me they got the franchise by overbidding relying on 9% growth in traffic each year (in a recession !!) consequently our rail fares are far to high.

so now they have been sacked fares should come down because there are no shareholders to pay

Could it not be argue ed that the Government don't care about those who despite gov policy amazingly still have jobs in the East because the East is now a sea of Blue which they are unlikely to win back at next gen election
An Eastern alliance of MPs would push that message home if its repeated enough

alongside perhaps why is petrol so high

conspiricy against the working man isnt that what Labour are proudest about looking after the working man

The Prime Minister looks increasingly rattled. Mr. Cameron has to be careful though. If he humiliates Brown too regularly it could backfire and elicit a sympathy vote for Brown. The British public do have a tendency favour the underdog no matter how loathsome the underdog is.

Brown now rattles off tractor production stats and meaningless treasury stats as if this will impress the public. People are, as Mr. Cameron pointed out, not completely stupid. Everyone but the most obtuse Labour supporter (and Ed Balls) can see that we are broke and need to cut spending.
Brown comes across as semi deranged. It is clear from his body language he loathes the leader of the opposition. It is bordering on a mania. I used to sneer at people who said Brown had mental health issues but it strikes me that at PMQ's now Brown is becoming more and more divorced from reality.
