Is the Mirror journalism?

Someone called David Collins from the Mirror phones up.  He wants to know why I've advertised for a part-time, temporary Office Administrator at £50 per day.

I explain that it's well above the minimum - and it compares favourably with what many other MPs pay for people doing similar roles filing and photocopying.  No story.

Ah, he insists.  But there is.  He tells me that it sounds like my Office Administrator would actually be a Constituency Caseworker, and ought to be on £19,000 a year.

Is this serious journalism?

Last time the Mirror launched an attack on me, their editor, Richard Wallace wrote a letter admiting that they had "over stepped the mark".

Still, at least this latest "attack" gives me an opportunity to post my favourite cartoon once again.

That article you linked to is quite possibly one of the worst examples of journalism Ive ever read (might happen quite often in the Mirror, I rarely go near the thing however). I especially liked the following sentence, that is completely off-topic and un-referenced elsewhere in the article

"Cutlass Carswell names fencing as his hobby - and I take it that involves swords, not stolen goods."

Obviously they are losing their touch at squeezing 300 words out of a non-story.

The Mirrors' politics of envy is a complete and utter joke. I say this as someone who lives on a council estate and earns a low wage.

No surprise Dougy. The Mirror are scum of the highest order. This is how they have reacted to the possible news that Norwich North may turn blue tommorow night: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/columnists/mcgovern/2009/07/22/it-s-good-by-labour-115875-21538561/

Very classy.

Have you noticed that it's one of the very few newspapers that NEVER invites comments?

Can it be that they are afraid of hearing the truth?

Whenever the Left launch vicious ad hominems like that, you know they are really frightened of the person they are attacking. You should take it as a compliment!

Probably the worst executed character assassination I've ever come across.

Truth be told, I didn't know the Mirror was a Labour rag, but to be fair, I've never read it and the thought of reading it has never once occurred to me.

Although I'm up here in the Glasgow where there's about as much chance as a Tory being voted in as the Mirror publishing a coherent instance of journalism, I wish you folks the best of luck. June 2010 can't come quick enough for a surprising number of us.

P.S loved the comparison of you with the BNP in the final sentance, I suppose they just couldn't resist.....

Benfu, that article you've posted is quite possibly the worst one I have ever seen published in a paper. It's barely in English and makes next to no sense. Do they have three year olds writing their articles for them?
